Medical Malpractice Associate
San Francisco, CA Direct-Hire $160000.00 - $240000.00 Remote

Job Description

A well-established, mid-sized law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2-3 years of litigation experience who is looking to deepen their hands-on involvement in complex civil matters within a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment. Experience in medical malpractice or other professional liability matters is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume practice. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team of attorneys and support staff.

Key responsibilities will include active participation in all phases of the litigation lifecycle. This encompasses case assessment and strategy development, drafting pleadings and motions, managing written discovery (including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission), and preparing for and attending depositions. The associate will also be involved in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and coordination with experts.

Additional responsibilities include drafting and arguing motions, appearing for hearings, and representing clients in court proceedings as appropriate. The role requires consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders, as well as maintaining accurate and organized case files.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral advocacy skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. Active membership in the California State Bar and good standing is required.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators on sophisticated matters while developing courtroom experience and advancing professional growth within a supportive team environment.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance.
